Small Town Excitement
It's amazing what can get you excited when you've been living in a small town for a year. Only those who visited us in London can truly appreciate the reaction I had when on my way home I saw the glorious blue, white and orange sign of the UK's best and famous pasty-making bakery. I was overjoyed to see that Greggs had moved into town. For those who haven't experienced the delicacy that is the chicken pasty (pronounced with the short 'a' sound), it's similar in look to a pizza pocket and comes with a choice of fillings such as chicken, steak, or ham and cheese.... The chicken pasty is hands down the most delicious food in all of the UK....and it only costs 89 pence! You just can't beat that! With Greggs in town this is guaranteed to be the best frickin' freezing Christmas ever!

As one who has visited you in London, and experienced the wonderfulness that is a Gregg's pasty, I find that it's kinda like having chicken dumplings, only you can hold it in your hand to eat it.:) Anyhoo, it is quite the "tasty pasty".:)

I remember getting so excited when the first subway and burger king was built, not in my tiny town, but the tiny town 5 miles away. We no longer had to drive 20 miles to get fast food.

Imagine that! Driving 20 miles to get fast food. Now THAT is truly small town life.

My mom went on and on and on about Gregg's when they went to London. She'd kill to have one out here. :)

So what the heck is Gregg's? I did not get a chance to indulge. So will I have to return to Scotland to taste this pasty? Dad
